Singapore’s Relief Payout is a government initiative designed to alleviate financial strain for Singaporean citizens by assisting them with the cost of living. In this regard, the government has set cash payment disbursement dates.
In August of 2025, cash payments will be issued to citizens as a continuation of the GST Voucher program. The program aims to relieve financial pressure for economically disadvantaged citizens, especially for lower to middle class citizens.
Key Points of Eligibility
Singaporeans hoping to qualify for the cash payment in August 2025 will need to satisfy a few eligibility criteria outlined by the government. You must be a Singapore citizen living in Singapore and 21 years of age (or older) in 2025.
Payment Tier Benefits Based on Housing Value!
The payment you will receive will be determined based on your housing situation. For citizens living in homes with an Annual Value of up to 21,000,theGST V cash payments will be 850.
People living in homes with Annual Values between 21,000and31,000 will receive assistance of $450. These specified amounts work to support proportionate distribution of assistance with greater aid going to those in smaller properties.
Understanding Annual Value Assessment!
In your eligibility criteria assessment and payment calculation, Annual Value (AV) plays a significant role. AV is the estimated gross annual rent of your property yielding rent income of your property, without considering furniture, fittings and upkeep.
Such an assessment is done based on the prevailing rentals of similar properties in the vicinity and not on the actual rent received. You can find your property’s AV on the IRAS Check Annual Value of Property website using your SingPass account. ALSO READ: $260 Grocery Relief for Eligible Singaporeans – Don’t Delay Your Application
